This report summarises the deliberations of Working Group 09 of the Guidance and Control Panel of AGARD. The objectives of the Working Group were: (1) To provide guidance to those concerned in the Flight Critical Control System (FCCS) validation, namely system designers and certification authorities. (2) To identify the areas of research which need to be explored to enable validation of the next generation of FCCS. The Working Group tried to review all flight critical control system validation activities which had been completed or were under active consideration, in Europe and the United States.
