Planning Research Corporation, has conducted a series of studies to develop techniques for estimating the cost of fixed-wing aircraft. The primary objective of these studies is to develop techniques suitable for use in program planning, cost-effectiveness studies, and evaluation of contractor proposals. A further objective is to provide insight into problems of cost analysis and to suggest an analytical methodology for developing estimating relationships that will be useful to analysts in the military departments in preparing estimates of cost for new weapons system programs.
