Measurement of the vibration response for the AIM-9D (Sidewinder) guided missile was made during captive flights on F-4B and F-8E aircraft. The missile was mounted on the LAU-7/A launcher. Signals from accelerometers mounted at various locations on the missile and launcher structure were recorded on magnetic tape. These signals were digitally analyzed to obtain comparisons of power spectral density curves for various flight conditions. Typical autocorrelation curves and rms acceleration-level variation curves with dynamic pressure are presented. (Author)
