The NATO workshop 'Colour Coded vs Monochrome Electronic Displays' was held at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, England between 28 February to 1 March 1984. Colour is increasingly utilized as an information code. In the last few years colours for electronical aeronautical displays have successfully been introduced into the civil cockpit. Testpilots report higher degree of comfort in flying with colour displays than with monochrome displays. This has added a pressure for the adaption of colour in military aircraft.
