The VEGETATION instrument, a payload of the SPOT 4, is presented. It is composed of a number of optical cameras and detectors requiring a high image quality and stability. The approach selected for the thermal control of this instrument is outlined. The mathematical models and the performances of the VEGETATION thermal control are discussed. The proposed development plan is shown.
