The improvement involves construction of a 2.5 mile section of Maryland Route 100 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The purpose is to ultimately provide a cross county link in the state system of highways, while improving access to the existing and proposed traffic generators throughout this corridor. Loss of woodland will reduce water storage adding to flood potential. Land required for right of way would be lost to development and agriculture. Some residents would be displaced.
