A discussion of Soviet military policy is presented with respect to the following: Shifts in military policy from Stalin to Khrushchev; the military policy approach of the Brezhnev-Kosygin regime; trends affecting the Soviet strategic posture; efforts to improve the 'reach' and mobility of Soviet conventional forces; the Vietnam situation and Soviet military policy; Soviet policy toward the Warsaw Pact; and political-military relations under the new regime.
