In any future mobilization the aerospace industry will be among the most critical to a general mobilization effort. The success of efforts to rapidly expand production during mobilization will be tremendously sensitive to how effectively the aerospace industry plans for and uses its prime asset--labor. Since Japanese labor is enjoying great success in virtually every aspect of industry it may be very beneficial to see what lessons we can learn from them to apply to the benefit of our industry now and during mobilization. This study examines the lessons learned and makes appropriate recommendations. (Author)
