Highway improvement consists of the addition of two lanes to the existing four lanes and an auxiliary eastbound lane for trucks on a 2.1-mile segment of Interstate Highway 80 in the city of Auburn and the county of Placer, California. Environmental impacts resulting from this project include the commitment of land and improvements to the right of way, including an area of Historic Old Auburn; relocation of a part of a cemetery; revision of access to and across Interstate 80; and minimal effects on wildlife of the area. Twenty-six acres of land and 62 improvements, including 60 residential units will be required. Project benefits include a safer route, better access to Historic Old Auburn, and improved aesthetics.
