The overall goal of the MeBHS is to reduce the rate of motor vehicle crashes in Maine that result in death, injuries, and property damage. Through the administration of federal funding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Federal Highway Administration and State Highway funds, MeBHS impacted each of the major NHTSA priority program areas in Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2010: Impaired driving; Occupatn protection; Child passenger safety; Traffic records; Police Traffic Services.
