A data-communication link via Internet has been established between the Crew-Vehicle System Research Facility (CVSRF) at the NASA Ames Research Center and the CTAS/NARSIM Simulation Facility (CNSF) at the NLR. Multiple simulated arrival flights of the Advanced Concepts Flight Simulator (ACFS) for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands Airspace were conducted. The ATC system consists of CTAS planning and control functions. This simulated ATC system works as fully automated system, without any assistance of a human operator. All air-ground communications take place through a simulated SSR Mode S data-link connection between air and ground systems.
