Tests were conducted with 10-feet, 3-inches, diametere propeller in a 8 ft. high-speed wind tunnel. Full-scale wooden propeller blade were constructed with blade twist removed so all sections operate approximately from common zero-lift position. Section critical speeds, profile drags, and section normal-force coefficients are computed. Adverse compressibility effects are expected on shank and hub sections at speeds of approximately 400 mph with subsequent detrimental effects on propulsive efficiency. Suitable fairings to delay compressibility shock formation on these sections are desirable.
