Part A of this volume provides: the study ground rules and vehicle environments to which the propellant feed system is designed; a Configuration Optimization Study that allowed selection of the propellant tanks and shell; an impact study of an integrated attitude control system (F2/H2) as compared to the reference Compound A/MHF-5 attitude control system; and screening and optimization analyses that led to the design requirements for the external load-carrying shell, engine thrust structure, thermal control coating, engine actuators, tank support struts, insulation systems, ground hold vent-free oxidizer tank system and flight tank-pressure-control system.
