The report describes a series of tests to determine the degree of coupling between electromagnetic fields and the wiring looms of a motor vehicle. A vehicle was placed on a turntable at an open-field test site and rotated in steps over a full 360 deg as the vehicle was illuminated by radiation from a biconical antenna placed 20 m distant. A transmitter swept the frequency range 10 MHz to 200 MHz producing about 1 V/m field strength at the vehicle. Current clamps on the vehicle wiring loom were connected back to the measuring equipment by means of a fibre-optic link. Horizontal and vertical polarizations of the transmitting antenna were used.
