Roll Over Protective Structures (ROPS) have been analyzed and designed for the Clark 290M and CAT 830MB tractors. These ROPS are of a two-post type to best comply with attachment limitations on the vehicles and provide minimum obstruction to visibility and vehicle operation. ROPS are removable and interchangeable between the two tractors. Certification tests to SAE Recommended Practices were performed and a field roll-over test was conducted on the CAT 830MB. Installation instructions for retrofit of the ROPS onto tractors now in the field are included. Complete design descriptions of the ROPS are shown including Material and Process Specifications for steel to be used in ROPS fabrication. Structural analysis of the designs and of test results are shown. Vibration analysis of the ROPS is included as are noise and vibration data taken on the vehicle during various operational modes.
