Simulation techniques provide a practical and relatively inexpensive means of obtaining thermal-vacuum characteristics of spacecraft and components. The results of these tests can be evaluated and compared with telemetered measurements of equipment when under actual orbital flight conditions. The ANNA earth satellite (1962 Beta MU 1) cited in this report is a typical example of a spacecraft being subjected to a thorough environmental test program prior to a successful orbital flight.
