The Bureau of Researh and Development of The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) contracted with the Transportation Research Center Inc. (TRC) to perform impact testing on the Buckeye Crossbuck sign with a small car, designated 820C, weighing no more than 820 kg (1,808 lb.) One of the test vehicles was impacted at 35 km/h (22mi/h) and the other at 88 km/h (55 mi/h). In general, the tests were performed utilizing guidelines provided in the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 350. This report briefly summarizes the results of the test conducted in May 1995.
