The purpose of case studies is to enhance the co-operation between the divisions of FOA as well as with other defense agencies. Another purpose is to connect models on different levels of aggregation. The method is to start with an explicit situation on operational level and then in a sketchy way describe the models and data that is needed to handle the problem area. Case Study AHKP was run in connection with the Attack Helicopter Study of the Swedish Defense and has improved the contacts between the researchers at FOA and the Defense study. Case studies might be a future way to establish early contacts. There are no models at FOA that fully can handle an attack helicopter's mobility and interaction with the surrounding terrain. Anyhow, many aspects can be enlightened, if the models are used in a sensible way. Some new models ought to be built, and when older models are modified the special needs of Attack helicopters may be incorporated. The data must be improved in many ways, e.i. the terrain resolution, the radiation properties of the targets and the background, and the vulnerability of different targets.
