Developments in flight test instrumentation are reviewed and instrumentation design aspects are considered in relation to the overall cost of flight testing. The instrumentation and data processing required for determination of available electric power during instrument landing approaches, determination of operational limits for helicopter use on ships, flight testing the gyro gunsight of a fighter aircraft, and flight testing a civil transport aircraft prototype are described.
