The Applied Market Intelligence for Defense Acquisitions (AMIDA) Enterprise Expansion Aviation project took the lessons learned and recommendations from the previous DLA Subsistence MI project to expand AMIDA across the Enterprise. Because Subsistence manages items with overlapping demand in the commercial space, the expansion initiative began with DLA Aviation (a largely non-commercial supply chain) to identify new business areas for consideration within AMIDAs design. The Accenture team determined gaps and pain points in Aviations existing MI capabilities, identified relevant internal and external data sources, provided a validation structure (decision matrix with high level questions and a roadmap to track supply chain progress overtime), proposed a to-be MI business process or recommendations, and a Business Case Analysis for the AMIDA expansion project. The project focused on four core categories: Data, Process, Technology, and People. In parallel with the capability development, the Accenture team also provided ad hoc MI research and analysis to DLA Aviation stakeholders for mission critical items.Recommendations:1. Data incorporate new data sources and analysis to support DLAs different lines of business.2. Process - standardization is key to the development of a mature AMIDA capability, which requires a strong foundation in collaboration, innovation, and agility.3. Technology - robust technology solution to integrate data sources and provide MI analytics to end-users.4. People - establish the roles and responsibilities necessary to develop and maintain the capability.DLA R and D, J7, and DLA Aviation next steps include launching the AMIDA Aviation transition project to operationalize the capabilities.
