The report puts forward a policy for the improved marketing of public transit services in large U.S. cities by the establishment of new transit community relations organizations; a new concept of passenger direction and transit information, aimed at giving urban transit a fresh image and making it much easier to ride; more passenger amenities such as shelters; new types of downtown service for casual riders; and new special fares of various kinds.
