Data on aircraft executing Simultaneous ILS Approach in Instrument Meteorological Conditions were collected at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) between January 24 and March 14,1989, for the purposes of analyzing the Instrument Landing System (ILS) navigational characteristics of these aircraft. Aircraft position data were collected using the in-place ORD Airport Surveillance Primary and Secondary radars. The data were reduced and analyzed at the FAA Technical Center to provide a measure of dispersion about the approach centerline and containment within various zones and envelopes of interest surrounding the approach centerline. Conclusions concerning the approach centerline. Conclusions concerning the approach flight characteristics are drawn and recommendations are made concerning potential applications.
