The paper presents some results of very recent studies of occupant injury. These studies were specifically designed to give a representative sample of vehicle occupants, including the uninjured, ie to cover the whole range of levels of injury. One of the main aims was to assess the effectiveness of belts in terms of risks of injury related to severity, location, and nature of the injury.
