Eight crash tests of utility vehicles, pickup trucks and one straight truck were conducted to determine the response of these atypical vehicles during collisions with concrete median barriers. In order for these tests to be compared with GUARD simulations of similar collisions, vehicle geometrics, suspension and inertial properties were determined and are reported. The utility vehicle and pickup responses in these tests resulted, in most cases, in responses similar to those of full-sized automobiles. Some exceptions are noted and discussed. Straight trucks with relatively high load locations are susceptible to rolling over concrete median barriers.
