A 30/15 mph 90-degree Impact (Moving Deformable Barrier (MDB)) test was performed at the Advanced Technology Center Crash Test Facility in Buffalo, New York in November 1988. The impact velocity of the MDB was 33.4 mph, and the ambient temperature at the struck side (driver's) of the target vehicle at the time of the impact was 52 F. The target vehicle post-test maximum crush was 14.2 inches. The test vehicles performance was: head injury criteria--driver's side, 149 and left rear side, 779; pelvic lateral acceleration--driver's side, 105.0 and left rear side, 91.0. The two doors on the struck side of the vehicle did not separate from the body at the hinges or latches and the opposite doors did not open during crash.
