Das North American Joint Positive Train Control Programme (Vereinigtes Nordamerikanisches Positiv-Zugleitsystem-Programm) ist ein Projekt zur Entwicklung wirtschaftlicher Zugleitsysteme für gemischten Personen- und Güterverkehr. Aufbauend auf den für das Advanced Train Control System (weiterentwickeltes Zugleitsystem) aus den 80er Jahren entwickelten Konzepten und Komponenten wird PTC von den neuesten Kommunikationstechniken Gebrauch machen. Ein Pilotprojekt umfasst einen Feldtest auf einem 193 km langen Teilstück der Union Pacific Hauptstrecke zwischen Springfield und Mazonia in Illinois, wo Güterzüge und bis zu 177 km/h schnelle Reisezüge sich das Gleis teilen.
