Previous studies only use short time speed data for the statistic and analysis in the road safety evaluation. It is based on the theory of running speed model to predict operational speed of road alignment to evaluate the safety of the highway. Therefore, the acquisition of data which exist in the space and time is the resolution. The road horizontal and vertical curves are selected as the research target of the alignment change in this paper. In the analysis of the road within the scope of its segments, the extraction of the GPS monitoring data of the operating vehicle network monitoring platform. In the analysis of the data, on one hand, the consistency of the actual operation speed and operating speed theory are analyzed. On the other hand, the influence of different parameters, such as horizontal curve radius and vertical curve slope on the actual running speed of trucks was also analyzed. The paper carries on the analysis to the highway trucks operation speed from the actual operating vision. The variation law of the vehicle speed in four types of the road units is obtained, which can be used as a new method for evaluating the safety of the highway with the speed characteristics.
