Detection of rectified THz signal with an asymmetric photoconductive antenna, which has a Schottky contact on one side and an ohmic contact on the other side of photoconductive gap, is reported. The rectification effect is attributed to the Schottky barrier at the interface of the metal contact and the semiconductor substrate. The Schottky photoconductive antenna is useful for THz imaging and sensing applications because it enables us to detect the intensity THz radiation without scanning the time-delay at the cost of the spectral information.
