More and more electric loads are being added to the vehicle electric power system. Very limited power capacities of current system can not handle the continuously increasing of the load powers. Simply increasing the capacitates of the alternator and battery and thickening the wires make the system very bulky, heavyweight, complicated and low efficiency. Further, the involvements of the electric traction, such as hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and fuel cell vehicle (FCV), make conventional power system impossible to completely meet the requirements. Thus, a total new, advanced power system must be developed to meet the vehicle development requirement. This work introduces the architectures of integrated on-board power system and some ideas of power management.
