Since the water traffic flow density becomes larger and the navigation environment becomes more complicated in inland waters, which leads to the increase of water traffic accidents, the management problem of water traffic becomes more and more prominent, so a VTS radar image-driven vessel traffic flow simulation system is proposed for the water traffic management in inland waters. Firstly, the general framework of the system is proposed, and the composition and functions of the system are introduced. Secondly, four key technologies introduced in the system are proposed. Since the multi-intelligence approach focuses on describing the behavior of simulation objects, the interaction between simulation objects is better portrayed in the traffic flow simulation system, making the simulation model closer to physical reality, so the multi-intelligence approach is used to construct the traffic flow model. Finally, the application of the system in two aspects, water traffic control and intelligent ship navigation supervision, is proposed, and the conclusions and further research of this paper are prospected.
