Acoustics comfort is an increasingly important factor at the design stage of electrical machines associated with converters. Skewing has a direct impact on pressure in the air-gap, which can be responsible for electromagnetic noise. This paper aims to compare different models to study the skewing. The impact of pressures is evaluated and analyzed for no-skew and skew rotors. Three numerical electromagnetic models are compared: 2D finite element method (FEM), 2D FEM multi-slice and 3D FEM. In addition, an experimental measurement validates our results.
