Fatigue in car or other commercial vehicle drivers is a significant contributor to road accidents globally. Due to lack of sleep and other illnesses, drivers may experience drowsiness or other medical issues, which can cause fatal accidents. This paper presents a comprehensive driver assistance system that addresses driver fatigue, detecting drowsiness and medical emergencies, alarm and assistance, and emergency alerts. The methodology includes using the Haar cascade classifier for drowsiness detection, driver's heart rate monitoring through a smartwatch, and a CNN-based facial expressions detection that helps predict medical emergency conditions. The proposed system generates regular text and audio alarm alerts for the driver. The Google Maps platform gives nearby hotels and hospital assistance to drivers. Furthermore, an autonomous EAS is implemented to notify emergency services and the driver's emergency contacts, potentially saving lives in critical situations. The system is implemented as a streamlit-based web application that acts as a visual interface for the driver. The proposed comprehensive driver assistance system can contribute to reducing road accidents caused by driver fatigue, help save lives and promoting road safety in society.
