As the key electronic control system of electric vehicle, the driving motor system has a direct impact on the vehicle operation safety. According to the methodology given in the national standard GB/T 34590-2017 "Road Vehicles - Functional Safety" (Modified by ISO 26262-2011), this paper starts from the functional concept of drive motor system, hazard analysis and risk assessment is carries out. The functional safety goals and requirements are derived. It is pointed out that the quantitative safety acceptance criterion is very important for the implementation of the design and development of the drive motor system.
