Nowadays, the petroleum cost is increasing day by day for Internal Combustion Engine type vehicles. Electric Vehicles use electricity as fuel which is cheaper than IC engine based vehicle. There are various motor like Induction Motor, BLDC Motor, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, Switched Reluctance Motor and Interior Permanent Magnet Drive Motor used in EV propulsion system. Here SRM based vehicle propulsion system is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink software due to several benefits of this motor like constant power capability, good fault tolerance capability, low cost as compared with another motor. In-wheel switched reluctance motor for EV propulsion system is realized by using advance angle control technique to reduce torque ripple for better performance.
