In electric ships, multiple power converter blocks can feed a common bus. In this paper, an advanced control algorithm is presented with the aim to minimize the transition time for heterogeneous buck converters for a change in the bus voltage or bus load. Practical implementation of the algorithm on real-time controller and performance improvement strategies are addressed. Real-time HIL experimental results are presented to validate and illustrate the control algorithm.
