The sharing of electric cars is now a hot research topic because of its benefits for greener production and travel efficiency. This paper proposes an event-driven modularized simulation model for a shared electric vehicle system (SEVS). The model consists of vehicle, station, link, and route modules. To add real-world aspects, several detailed factors are jointly considered in this study: (1) the range anxiety of customers; (2) a nonlinear charging process; (3) the interactions between road congestion and the travel velocity of shared vehicles; (4) restrictions on station capacity; (5) the limitations of battery capacity and charging speed on vehicle operations; and (6) the stimulative effect of pricing on travel demands. Finally, several controlled variable experiments, focusing on charging speed, range anxiety, and trip price, for the case of the EVCard operation in Chengdu, are deployed to illustrate the abilities of the proposed tool.
