As the compensation type is important in an inductively coupled power transfer system, a novel LCC/S compensation topology has been proposed in this paper, which features the advantage of the adjustable constant gain with zero voltage switching turn-on. The symmetric T type high-order compensation type is specifically introduced in this paper, which is not sensitive to the parameter deviation and is able to transfer voltage source into current source. The tuning method for achieving ZVS is also discussed. To verify the analysis, a 400W prototype with 50mm gap and fixed voltage transfer ratio was fabricated and tested. An overall efficiency 90.5% was achieved from DC 100V input to DC 45 V output.
