In this paper a novel recovery and release structure (RRS) for the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Carrier System based on infrared location and precise control is proposed. The system is used to connect a large UAV as a carrier to the quadrotors placed on it. The mechanical connection part includes XY mobile platform, manipulator and connection parts of tower structure. The signal transmission part is composed of infrared light emitting diodes and photodiodes. The positioning mode is navigation and infrared hybrid guidance. SolidWorks is used for 3D modeling, and carbon plate, aluminum and other materials are used to make the quadrotor. It is believed that, the presented RRS will effectively broaden the application of quadrotor in military field and make up for its shortcomings of small endurance and low load.
