The present invention relates to a functionalized resin composition, a method for preparing the same, and a tire tread comprising the same. The functionalized resin composition can implement material properties excellent in wet traction, rolling resistance, and abrasion resistance in the tire tread while improving the adhesion of the tire tread. The functionalized resin composition of the present invention comprises a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer comprising styrene monomer with 8 carbon atoms and styrene monomer with 9 carbon atoms, and pinene.
