Provided are a PE component cooling control system of an electric vehicle and a method thereof. The PE component cooling control system of the electric vehicle of the present invention comprises: a traveling load determining unit which estimates a weight of the vehicle and determines a driving load level based on the estimated weight; a PE component temperature control unit changing a cooling start reference temperature of a PE component depending on the determined driving load level; and a notification pop-up control unit for notifying a driver that the reference temperature for starting cooling of the PE component has changed. The weight of the vehicle is estimated and determined, and a cooling start temperature of the PE component is differentiated for each estimated weight level. Accordingly, performance degradation of the PE component may be prevented and cooling current consumption may be reduced.

    본 발명은, 차량의 중량을 추정하고, 추정된 중량을 기초로 주행부하 레벨을 결정하는 주행부하 결정부; 결정된 주행부하 레벨에 따라, PE 부품의 냉각 시작 기준온도를 변경하는 PE 부품 온도 제어부; 및 상기 PE 부품의 냉각 시작 기준온도가 변경되었음을 운전자에게 알려주기 위한 알림 팝업 제어부; 를 포함하는 구성을 기반으로, 차량의 중량을 추정 판단하고, 추정된 중량 레벨 별로 PE 부품의 냉각 시작 온도를 차별화시킴으로써, PE 부품의 성능 저하 방지 및 냉각 소모 전류를 감소시킬 수 있도록 한 전기자동차의 PE 부품 냉각 제어 시스템 및 방법을 제공한다.
