The present invention relates to a system and method for managing an energy storage device located at a device exchange station. For example, the method includes the steps of: (1) receiving, by a device switching station, information indicating at least one characteristic associated with an energy storage device from a server; (2) selecting, by the device switching station, at least one energy storage device based on at least one characteristic; and (3) adjusting a swapping priority of the selected energy storage device.
