The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for photographing omnidirectional areas of a vehicle by using a reflector, configured to efficiently utilize inner and outer spaces of a vehicle by minimizing the installation of cameras for photographing omnidirectional areas. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for photographing omnidirectional areas of a vehicle comprises: a reflector which is installed on the roof of the vehicle, and whose central portion protrudes downward; a camera which is installed to be spaced apart in a lower portion of the reflector, and photographs omnidirectional areas reflected from the reflector; and a control unit for converting image information photographed by the camera into a plane image. According to the present invention, photographing areas can be monitored in all directions without a blind area by using one surveillance camera; and damage to the external appearance of the vehicle can be minimized since a small installation space is required, thereby greatly reducing installation costs of an omnidirectional surveillance apparatus.
