해상 부체 구조물은 설치 해역까지 이동 가능하며, 설치 해역에서는 계류 고정되어 가동한다. 길이 방향의 중앙부는 직육면체 형상을 갖는다. 중앙부에 연속해서 설치된 후방부(13)의 상갑판(25)은 중앙부의 상갑판과 동등한 폭인 직사각형상을 갖는다. 후방부(13)의 이동시에서의 끽수선보다도 하방 부분이 후방으로 향하여 오므라지는 유선형을 나타낸다.
