To provide a ship propulsion system and a ship that can enhance position holding accuracy in controlling drift, while minimizing an environmental load accompanying driving of propulsion machines.SOLUTION: A ship propulsion system 102 of the invention includes: a main propulsion machine 1 configured to be able to change a direction of thrust by turning laterally; an auxiliary propulsion machine 2 which includes an electric motor 23 for driving an auxiliary propeller 20 generating thrust, and is capable of changing a direction of thrust by turning laterally; and a control section 6 for controlling drift by moving a hull 101 when an external force F including flows of wind and water is received, while maintaining an orientation of a bow 101a of the hull at a target orientation T2 by turning round the hull. The control section 6 is configured to maintain, in controlling drift, an orientation T1 of the bow 101a at a target orientation T2 by driving the auxiliary propeller 20 to turning round the hull 101 in a state that a main propeller 10 generating thrust of the main propulsion machine 1 is halted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】推進機の駆動に伴う環境負荷を極力低減しながら、ドリフトの制御における位置保持精度を向上させることが可能な船舶推進システムおよび船舶を提供する。【解決手段】この船舶推進システム102は、左右方向に回動して推力の向きを変更可能に構成された主推進機1と、推力を発生させる補助プロペラ20を駆動させる電気モータ23を含み、左右方向に回動して推力の向きを変更可能に構成された補助推進機2と、船体101を回頭することにより船体の船首101aの方位を目標方位T2に維持しながら、風および水の流れを含む外力Fを受けて船体を移動させるドリフトの制御を行う制御部6とを、備え、制御部6は、ドリフトの制御において、主推進機1の推力を発生させる主プロペラ10を停止させた状態で、補助プロペラ20を駆動させることにより、船体101を回頭して船首101aの方位T1を目標方位T2に維持するように構成されている。【選択図】図1
