To provide a ship propulsion system and a ship that are capable of turning round a hull while preventing control using a control section, from becoming complicated, in a constitution comprising a plurality of propulsion machines respectively having maximum outputs different from each other.SOLUTION: In a ship propulsion system 100 of the present invention, a control section 50 executes control for turning round a hull 10 without generating thrust of the main propulsion machine 20 by driving an auxiliary propulsion machine 30 having a smaller maximum output than a main propulsion machine 20 but having a larger turning angle range than the main propulsion machine 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
