To provide a rubber composition for studless tires that demonstrates excellent processability and achieves improved on-ice performance while maintaining at least the heat build-up and wear resistance.SOLUTION: This rubber composition for studless tires contains 20 pts.mass or more of an inorganic filler relative to 100 pts.mass of a diene rubber that has an average glass transition temperature of -80°C or less, and also contains more than 0 mass% less than 10 mass% of a whisker-like basic metal salt (A) relative to the inorganic filler.SELECTED DRAWING: None
