To provide an electric vehicle which can determine whether or not the vehicle is on a low μ road from traveling conditions and automatically switch its mode to a travel mode that suits for the situation when it is determined that the vehicle is on the low μ road.SOLUTION: In a case that a vehicle is under travel conditions that meet first or second conditions, a controller 50 determines that the vehicle travels on a low μ road and performs switching operation to a travel mode in which a rate of torque rise of a rotary electric machine 30 is reduced. Thus, the vehicle can automatically switch the travel mode according to travel conditions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】走行状況から低μ路にいるか否かを判定して、低μ路にいると判定した際にそれに応じた走行モードに自動的に切り替え可能な電動車両の提供。【解決手段】車両が第1または第2の条件を満たす走行状況にある場合に、制御装置50が、車両が低μ路を走行していると判定して、回転電機30のトルク立ち上がり量を抑制する走行モードへの切り替え制御を実行する。よって、走行状況に応じて自動的に走行モードを切り替えることが可能になる。【選択図】 図2
