To provide a power management device and a power management method which can suppress deterioration of a life of a power storage device as a whole provided in each of a plurality of electric vehicles, while adjusting the demand and supply of a power network.SOLUTION: The power management device includes: a selection unit which selects electric vehicles of a target number from a vehicle group which includes a plurality of electric vehicles; and a request unit which is configured to be able to request each electric vehicle, selected by the selection unit, to perform at least one of charging a power storage device using the power of a power network and supplying power to the power network. The selection unit is configured to acquire the temperature and the SOC of the power storage device of each electric vehicle included in the vehicle group, to perform the above selection according to a priority preset by the temperature of the power storage device and the SOC of the power storage device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
