To solve a problem that a starting point of a fork road is included in a section preparing for a switch, which is the section from a point where a notice is given to a point where driving is switched, while it is desirable that a section in which an automatic driving process is executed is as long as possible; provided that a driving support device for a vehicle that executes the automatic driving process while driving on a road to be supported performs driving switch, which stops the automatic driving process after giving notification to a driver upon entering a local road or a facility from a road to be supported via the fork road.SOLUTION: If a predicted travel time from when a vehicle enters a fork road to a first stop is equal to or longer than a predicted window time, driving is switched such that a section preparing for a switch is included in the fork road. If the predicted travel time is shorter than the window time, the driving is switched such that the section preparing for the switch is included in a road to be supported.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】支援対象道路の走行中に自動運転処理を実行する車両の運転支援装置は、支援対象道路から分岐路を経て一般道路又は施設に進入するとき、運転者へ予め通知をしたうえで自動運転処理を自動的に停止する運転交代を実行するが、自動運転処理が実行される区間が可及的に長いことが望ましい一方、通知が行われる地点から運転交代が行われる地点までの区間である交代準備区間に分岐路の始点が含まれることを回避する必要がある。【解決手段】車両が分岐路に進入してから最初に停止するまでの予測走行時間が所定の猶予時間以上であれば、交代準備区間が分岐路に含まれるように運転交代を行う。一方、予測走行時間が猶予時間よりも短ければ、交代準備区間が支援対象道路に含まれるように運転交代を行う。【選択図】 図3
