To provide a periphery monitoring device capable of improving visibility of a part hidden by an own vehicle image and performing a display which can intuitively grip between an own vehicle and the circumference.SOLUTION: A periphery monitoring device includes: an acquisition part that acquires an imaging image from an imaging part that images the circumference of a vehicle; a generation part that generates a vehicle circumference image indicating the situation of the circumference of the vehicle with a virtual space on the basis of the imaging image; and a processing part that makes the own vehicle image indicating the vehicle in which a penetration state of a configuration surface expressing a surface of configuring the vehicle is determined in accordance with the direction of the configuration surface, displaying the vehicle circumference image displayed on the basis of a virtual view point facing the vehicle in the virtual space, and makes the image to be overlapped displaying on a display part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
